Agatha Kereere

is a University of California - Berkeley graduate ('17) where she received her Master in Journalism. She has experience writing for news publications, interning in media and state government, working full time at a major motion picture studio, and living in different places over the world. The last detail serves as a significant tool in her work by allowing her to look at the many sides a story entails and provides her with a wealth of sources to contact. Her main passions are social justice, intersectionality, pop culture, philanthropy/community outreach programs, and helping stories receiving little to no attention to the forefront.

About Me

The foundation for Agatha's love of storytelling formed at a young age when she watched the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Walters, and Dan Rather conduct interviews before irritating her parents with questions pertaining to the one on ones and her news personality imitations. Over the years, a firm structure was put in place through exposure to different cultures, faiths, and customs as she travelled to and lived in different parts of the world such as North America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and Australia. With each location, she heard a wide range of narratives - especially from those who felt their voices were receiving little to no attention. From that point onward, she vowed to hone her journalistic skills and seek the many angles of a story. Her determination and hard work helped result in a press internship for the former Governor of Massachusetts, Deval Patrick, at the Massachusetts State House; a post - production internship at ITV Studios for the A&E show, The First 48, in New York City; a contributing writers position in the “college” section of USA TODAY; and before that, associate, assistant, and correspondent positions at some of her alma mater’s, Emerson College, media related organizations. Today, Agatha invites you to explore her portfolio and reach out to her for any comments, questions, or freelance assignments.
